Neocate-Only Recipe Series: Tropical Pudding

Posted 8.17.12 | Rob McCandlish, RDN

This is another great recipe for folks who have to follow a strict elemental diet, avoiding even the least allergenic foods such as fruits and vegetables in favor of hypoallergenic amino-acid based products like Neocate.

We hope you’ve enjoyed the recipe series and found it helpful. As always, don’t forget about the other great resources we have for elimination diets that you can use when adding foods gradually back in to your diet to compliment elemental formula. For example, the Neocate Food Allergy Cookbook brings together ideas from many parents and families who manage allergies like experts. They’ve come up with great dishes that have helped many other families in their allergy journey!

Today’s recipe mirrors the first recipe in this series, vanilla pudding, just with a citrusy summer twist. This week’s recipe again combines the flexible texture of Neocate Nutra with the great taste of a familiar favorite in the Neocate family, Neocate Junior, Tropical.

Neocate Tropical Pudding

  • 8 scoops Neocate Nutra
  • 3 scoops Neocate Junior, Tropical
  • 2-3 tablespoons cold water

Add all ingredients to a bowl and blend well with a spoon or whisk. We suggest starting with 2 tablespoons water and adding more as needed to reach the desired consistency. The pudding can be consumed immediately or refrigerated. After about 1 hour in the refrigerator the consistency will be thicker. If refrigerated, consume within 24 hours, as with all Neocate products. Makes one serving.
