Breakfast Oatmeal

As we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it fuels you up and gets you ready for the day.

 We also know that generally, kids who eat breakfast have more energy and do better in school.  So we recommend you and your little ones start the day off right with one of these oatmeal options!

Neocate Oatmeal

• 1 package of instant oatmeal

• 1/2 cup Neocate, prepared

Mix up to 1/2 cup of prepared Neocate with instant oatmeal.

*Nutrition information will depend on type and amount of oatmeal used.

 

Baked Oatmeal

• 1 cup oil (can sub. applesauce)

• 1 1/2 cups sugar (can reduce)

• 4 eggs

• 6 cups oats (not the quick-cook kind)

• 4 tsp baking powder

• 1 tsp salt

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 2 cups water

Combine all ingredients in order listed.  Pour into a greased 9 x13” pan.  Bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes until lightly browned.  Serve with fresh fruit (bananas, strawberries, blueberries).

Notes: Do not use cooking sprays as all of them contain soy.  I used olive oil.
