January 11, 2013 Update to Neocate® Junior Unflavored

Posted 1.11.13 | Neocate Admin

We are working to help the few families in the United States who have contacted us to report that their children with unique and extremely sensitive medical conditions have had varying degrees of difficulty tolerating Neocate® Junior Unflavored.  The steps we've taken were outlined in a post on December 14, 2012.

We know that many children with sensitive conditions rely and thrive on Neocate Junior products, and difficulties can arise for many different reasons, making this a complex situation to explore.  Specifically, some of the children in the reported cases may have more sensitive conditions than those for which the product is typically used.  But, we also know that these families urgently need solutions for their children's individual needs, and we are partnering with those who can help find solutions.

We understand you may have questions about this.  To help answer these questions, we have posted information here.  Our team is also available to you at 1-800-365-7354.

We will also continue to post to this blog any significant updates or information of interest.

I have had the pleasure of getting the know one of the families who are affected by the formula change.  Through them I learned about 15 other families who have children that need the old formula.  As a concerned citizen,  friend and mother I pray your company can reach deep and help these families. No parent should ever have to watch their child die,  especially when it can be prevented.

Here’s an overview of our actions [http://www.neocate.com/about-neocate/neocate-junior-update/]. We are tailoring resolutions that we hope will meet each child’s unique need in partnership with each family, and their pediatrician or specialist. This takes time and is best kept private with each family to respect their privacy. We will continue to update Neocate.com as appropriate as we progress forward.
